Essence within myself.

Let me just tell you about my morning through a photo:

Tragedy of a junkie

So what you're saying is that I can't be a pack rat for the rest of my life and keep anything and everything? Why can't this beeeeeee. It's absolutely heartbreaking.

We only have one more week of school left, that means we need to completely CLEAR this place out. I am in need of saying bye to some [probably a gagillion] belongings. Sad sad day today is.

Drama like O-M-G.

I was scavenging through a textbook as a resource for a paper and fell upon this:

The Battle of Gods and Giants from the Great Altar of Zeus

THEN it reminded me of one of my all-time favorites--
Laocoon and His Sons

It was nice to become a bit distracted by the theatrical expressions and dynamics. This is the single moment that I have appreciated my Patterns in Prehistory literature.

There's that charm

Compliments to photographer Robert Polidori

It's hard to NOT find an allurement in such a disaster. These were taken after Hurricane Katrina struck and the aftermath that took place-New Orleans after the Flood.

In my studio class earlier I came across this humble little saying->
learn by doing.
I mean how else are we going to know, unless we actually execute ideas instead of leaving them in our minds to mosey around [after the brief common sense episode of course] So get your hands dirty with a childish curiosity yesh?

>>Treat everything as an experiment<<

Just another beginning

I was never one to believe in a fresh start, but by this Spring semester of 2010, it will be the closest I'll ever get. Fourty-five days until I leave for Florence to study abroad. A continued life but in a foreign environment, abandoning practically all I know. Only good can come out of this four months of being away.

I'm addicted to change and have learned to accept that, SO this here is a new blog that I'm venturing with. I'm letting go of the old and hopefully committing to the new with an intended twist.

There they were
Both intricate beings

How could it be, those of opposites
could indeed attract
I thought it was solely a saying
Here it is true
Coming out of the pages

An attraction of magnets
of gross and beauty
of fingers and toes
Oh, your fingers and toes

Maybe the two were found inert, numb
and felt warmth within another
Maybe they were firmly in their paths
and happened to collide
Maybe it was a mere worldly coincidence

If we look deep
we might find substance
This essence might be kept for later
But things like this never last forever

One end will split into a different direction
A branch giving into nature
Time is moving on without us
We cannot seem to hold on

It won't phase us
Because here we are
In this moment
with fingers and toes intertwined
This moment of opposites.

Yes, I'm giving poetry a shot, my dear good friends have sparked something in me. Let's see where this goes, shall we?
